Disk 1 worked perfectly on the first try

Disk 2 is refusing to update the Bluetooth unit for me . Must I get this to work before installing Disk 3?

Nope.. you can do disk 3 after disk 1. Disk 2 only does the bluetooth module as far as I know.. and maybe just the Handyvorb one, so ifyou have the rSAP module, that may not be affected by the 'update of death' problem.

Thanks, disk 3 is now installing.

Bluetooth may have a problem. I changed the module from a standard armrest one to the Bluetooth one - non rsap. The mmi now recognised the unit as nnnnnnnnnnnnnn in the module list. Is this component protection, or maybe a fried module?

Try disk 2 again after disk 3, but it may have died

I have tried a few times since installing disk 3 too, but there is no change.

With me changing the unit from armrest phone unit to Bluetooth, could vagcom be needed to change the module type?

its possible, is this a brand new unit or one that was fitted in another 8 before?,
do you have any old scans that show the telephone coding?

It was from another 8.

Neil has a scan from our last meet. It has not been re-coded since the install as none of the instructions have stated that it is required. I thought it was only because I needed the software update.

MAM

i found some more info after the vagcom scan

there is reference to strange chararacters showing up as below

Address 77: Telephone Labels: None
Part No HW: nоооооооооо
Revision: оооооооо Serial number: оооооооооооооо
VCID: 55A40612FCA95FB022B

Subsystem 14 - Part No: 4E0 910 336 K
Component: ооооооооооооооооооо 0950
Shop #: WSC 61166 887 1957341

1 Fault Found:
02619 - Communications Wire Adapter Set
004 - No Signal/Communication
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 11110100
Fault Priority: 15
Fault Frequency: 254
-------------------------------------------------------

They tend to say that it means the module is fried but there is one reference to it being possibly caused by the update cds, it might be worth getting a proper audi disk 2 and trying again before you rip it out

these 2 settings - you can also do it in vagcom

APS (front) - activation parking sensors front of the vehicle. Equivalent adaptation module 07, channel 1, the value 4
APS (rear) - activation parking sensors in the rear. Equivalent adaptation module 07, channel 1, the value of the 8th
Alright, i have looked into the hidden menu but couldn't find any relevant update to display APS on screen.

Also on VAG, where indicated there is something to change navi language. Am i doing something wrong?
