1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Out of interest, do you have a 2nd set of wheels for summer or are you swapping tyres?
I have 2 full sets (5 alloys each) for BOTH of my cars to cover summer and winter. The summer ones are "better" alloys so I don't worry about scuffing the winter ones.
(Though the S8 winter wheels are currently 5 bare alloys and 2 unfitted tyres, following my change from PF to FL earlier this year - work in progress!)

At the moment I just swap them until I can get some spare wheels at a realistic price, but to be honest the Dunlop winter tyres are that good you could use them all year round. But I want 2 save them for winter. Only one passenger has ever noticed slightly more noise but he's a racing driver and engine mapping specialist so has a good ear for any strange noises.

So having sorted out the alloys (2 fully refurbed, others cleaned and "touched up") and checked the 2 tyres dates, wear and condition I've decided on Pirelli. The Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 will be the spare and the "as new" Pirelli will have 3 more added to make a matching set.

I'll get the tyres ASAP and have them all fitted and balanced ready to swap over when winter arrives.

Going for Pirelli Sottozero Winter 240's which seem to be available now. Does anyone have any experience of or comments on these?

I'm at a loss as to how anyone can recommend Nankangs. They were on my car when I bought it (on 20" wheels) and I thought a bearing had gone, they were so noisy. And in the wet they were hopeless. Absolute c**p IMHO. Couldn't believe the difference when I swapped them for Vredesteins.
