Hello!
I have one question for you. Is it possible to install engine from S8 FL (360 HP) to my A8 PF (300 HP). Which parts should I change? I have this part from S8 FL: engine, engine ECU, transsmision, transs ECU, rear diff.... Thanks

Zdravo!
I think you have all the parts you need. I researched the part numbers when I was going to do a manual gearbox conversion, I think the front sub-frames are essentially the same. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along soon with better advice. In the meantime make yourself an account on Vagcat http://www.vagcat.com/ Its a free online parts catalogue, you can see part diagrams and compare part numbers from PF to FL, if part numbers are the same then you know its good to go. |

Hi there,
Your big issues are going to be the Can bus and instrumentation. The FL uses can bus from the each throughout the instruments. FL is also a fly by wire throttle so a pedel cluster change may be needed.

@Goran: thanks for link to vagcat
![]() ![]() @Conan_the_Librarian: I know, that I will have a big problem with a motronic harness...and with CAN-BUS ![]() Tell me something.... If I change just transsmission and rear diff, what I get? More acceleration? Hire top speed?

Changing the transmission is pretty straight forward physically. Use a matching rear diff. You'll get better acceleration but lower mpg. I don't know if the TCUs on a FL need Canbus, can't think why they would.

Zdravo Tadej, I am from Beograd.
If you are changing just the gearbox you are better of changing to a manual, even more acceleration, less weight, gearbox will last longer. |
