In your case when fault affects one side of engine I would suggest valve timing issue with one side getting considerably more air then other. Check measuring blocks for lambda control, difference between banks should not be more then 4%. If it's something like +10% one side and -10% other side then it's definitely valve timing issue.

Well i just swapped all the vac hoses and it did nothing that I can tell. Still £15 for 5m and it was a pretty easy job, so I'm not too bothered.
Also is that Vac at all related to the central locking vac as i've had an over run error for ages. Valve timing issue ??? How do you deal with this, I thought it was all automatic. The timing belt seems fine as i have the covers off a couple of bits. Interestingly when just reversing it out and back into my factory I noticed the brakes were very hard and thinking back when driving it here it was the same. Kinda racing and wanting to pull forwards when slow. Doubt it is related, but ??? |

Hi There,
Just had a quick play. Alas i left my net top at work last night and thus didn't charge it up, but going to measure blocks and 001 and there were two lamdas and they were both at zero. Engine was running but the error codes had been cleared less than a minute prior so am guessing it cleared the lamda's too. Will try again in the morning. Hi there,
Ran it for about 10 mins this morning while having a play with engine measure blocks. I can't say i know much about what i was reading Group 055 I think is probably what i am looking for rpm / Lamda / Lamda / Bin bits 800 / 0.4 / 1.8 The 1st Lamda was quite rapid going from -0.4 to about +2 when reving. The second started at 0.6 and over the time rose to 1.8, but did it very very slowly. At the end i did another error code scan and got. You said that you replaced the G40 sensor, presumably the one on bank one (the same side as the misfires)?
If it's also running badly on gas, then like you say it's most likely ignition related but that's not definite. Remember that the lpg injectors wiring is basically piggy backed off the petrol injectors to determine the injector timing so you could still be looking at a petrol injector issue (though all on on bank also seems unlikely). Is it possible that the faulty G40 has caused damage to the plugs on one bank and consequently it's still logging misfires? I'd be pulling the plugs out for a look at the colour and if necessary compare one from bank one with one from bank 2. Give that time it takes to remove them, maybe a new set of plugs would be worthwhile? Don't bother with lpg specific plugs, stick with OEM. I've got lpg on my 40V in the S6 and I know these issues can be more noticeable running on gas because it's a bit less forgiving that petrol but if you try and resolve the issue while it's running on petrol, then likely as not it'll then be ok on gas. |

Hi there,
I cleaned the throttle body earlier (which was gunky and probably did well for a clean) and while checking the running, noticed on goup 001 that the two lamda banks were vastly different minute or so after starting. like -10 and 18. Once the engine light was flashing and missfires detected they went to 0 and 0. I stopped the car and cleared the codes but it didn't like restarting when warm, so another day done! |
