I use -R single layer and it's fine.. Though I do need to burn at 4x or less.

Yay, it works. Used Roxio Toast and burnt at 2x speed onto a single layer Verbatim DVD-R.

At last I have some local roads which were missing.

The MMI firmware currently installed is too old for that. I do have the three ISO's for the latest version, although I have not got around to running them through.

After trying to navigate 140 miles last night, part way through the route it stopped navigating and came up "check navigation dvd" again.

So I stopped at the next services and tried to get it to recognise the original 2003 one, which generated the same error when put back in. The system immediately recognises my copy and it seems ok, but its obvious the disk copy is not working perfectly. There is also no navigation audio on the 2013 version for some reason, just visual guidance.

I don't know if the reason the original older 2003 one no longer works is because the newer one has been used, and perhaps something has been updated. so I need to attempt to get a perfect copy of the 2013 version that works.

You may need the MMI software updated too, that could potentially be causing issues.

The later nav discs do update the nav system, so there is no going back. Mine played up a bit when i first got the car, and cleaning it a few times with a CD cleaner disc sorted it.
