But heavy. There's very little substitute for mass (or a vacuum) if you want really good sound insulation.
I remember a senior manager in a company I worked for (for many years) who was infamous for his verbal outbursts. So much so that his office was eventually lead-lined. ![]() Nonetheless he was actually a nice guy (tough but fair) and very well-respected, though sadly no longer with us. I remember randomly bumping into him a few years ago on a tube journey and he remembered me immediately and we had a good chat about old times. He died a couple of years after that - he was "larger than life" in so many ways with health to match!

And even after it's all dried out AND the right way round, it's not right.
![]() Had to fix it back today (only chance pre-Xmas journeys) and only managed to get one screw in properly - chose the bottom-left one as it seemed to give a half-decent secure fixing, it certainly wouldn't line up with the bracket on the bottom of the transmission tunnel trim panel. I used a 25mm countersunk posidriv one in the end - 20mm was not gripping enough. ![]() When the weather improves I'll go back, make a paper template of the fixing holes and modify the board appropriately. I suspect it's just swollen a tiny bit overall (even though only one edge was actually wet) so doesn't line up accurately any more. And when I do finally fit it I'll put some long thin pins/pegs into the screwholes to drop it over, then pull them through one at a time to insert the screws accurately. ![]()
