I had one like this a few years ago
in the end i agreed to the insurance scrapping it as long as i could buy it back for an agreed price repaired it myself mostly , ended up with with money in my pocket

its a sad state, body panels for D2 are no longer available as new. What this means, is that any accident which damages a panel will result in writing the car off no matter how minor.

They'll sell you a lhd bonnet no problem and give instructions on modifying it - other panels can still be had but the prices may make it an uneconomic repair none the less.....

Hi There,
There are 3 issues here Audi D2 A8/S8 are very cheap at the moment. Yours may be great condition but the market is flat. It was a 60-70k car. Parts reflect this cost rather than their value in an old car. They are Aluminium which means body work repair are way overpriced as most places won't touch it. What would be worse is if someone has hit you, done damage and then you loose out without it being your fault at all! Lee
