As I'm helping to organise it this year, SWMBO will be expecting it to be worth attending! So please bring friends and family - we look forward to meeting you all!
Sounds good already

Had a meeting on this on Friday. We've sorted the area for a hotel and a breathtaking circular route for the Saturday!

Should have more news and a hotel within a couple of weeks.

We may have found a venue! David and I are off to see it on Saturday and, all being well, will book rooms for Brian, David and me (Plus SWMBOs x 3) and reserve as many as possible for as long as possible for you guys to book (see note below).

On Friday, there are 6 double rooms available, 6 twins, 1 single en suite and 3 'basic' singles (no en suite). On Saturday there's an extra twin and en suite single.

But please note - hotel rooms up here at that time of year are already in very short supply; some hotels are already fully booked. We're also going to view a couple of 'overspill' hotels in the area in case we get a good turnout, but, if you're going to come to the best annual meet to date (well, we hope so! ) be prepared to book a room next week if at all possible.

If any of you are in a position to say "yes, I'll definitely be there, reserve me a room", please let me know before Saturday 10am so we have some bargaining power. But you must be prepared to pay up by Monday latest. Rooms will be in the region of £25 (single with no en suite) to £80 (double en suite) per room per night.

And, as a clue, it'll be around 60 miles north of Glasgow, but I don't want to tell you exactly as the hotel has recently changed hands and has some pretty poor, historical Trip Advisor reviews. Newer reviews are more favourable, but nothing beats a personal visit!

Watch this space!

Would I be allowed to come if the A8 goes and I have no current plans to replace it?
