Anyone With VCDS In The Heathrow Area?
Hey ladies and gents, Just wondered if there was anyone local to Heathrow or the Hayes / Uxbridge area with VCDS?
My 2005 D3 4.2 Quattro was in the shop, picked her up on Thursday evening. Looks like the boys there messed about with the MMI, as it was all in German. And after reverting back to English, I have some things missing from the Car menu in MMI. 1) ASS (Adaptive Sport Suspension) settings. 2) PDC (Parking Distance Control) settings. 3) Electric rear blind settings. The items all work, just no means of changing any settings. Most important is the suspension, as I am due to have my wheels refurbished, but with no way of putting the system into Jacking Mode... I need to enable the hidden menu, so I can restore the missing items, this is where VCDS comes in. I'm in the Hayes area, but willing to travel to get my car plugged in. I'm more than happy to pay for time spent. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

I've got VCDS-Lite, will that do the job? 8 miles NW of Uxbridge.

DVB-T and XCarlink now removed as redundant. 2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation".  (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Completely forgot to call you after Christmas, sorry mate (I completely understand the situation you were in while I was sorting S8 grilles and I hope you understand situation I was in) Anyway If Lite won't do the job and you don't mind driving to SE28 then you can pop in any time.

I'm by Gatwick and have a full version of 908 VCDS with a clone cable that seems to work fine for all jobs I've tried. Am around tomorrow cleaning up the A6 pre-sale if it helps?

Sadly that was no good.
Nolly just left and my VCDS will only read the engine on his D3. A bit of googling and we think it's because I don't have the right lead. I guess he'll be contacting you next Adrian.  He does have a strange selection of symptoms including a battery warning.

Hi Nolly,
I've got a Ross-Tech HEX+CAN VCDS cable. Had it a while but it should be compatible with your D3 and is the full licensed version. Can't pretend that I know how to use it properly but if you know what you need to do then you're welcome to use it. I'm over in Acton so about 8 miles as the crow flies. Cheers, Mike
