Upgrading from Concert cassette to RNS-D
Evening all,
Just looking for a bit of top-line advice. If you can help me get started I'll be able to find the detail myself. I've got a FL 2000 Bose Concert single DIN cassette unit in the car which has stopped working. It only goes off or very quiet. From reading up on the problem, I believe I've reached my 10,000 twiddles of the knob  and the EPROM chip is no longer writeable. Anyway, that's a good excuse to upgrade as I've always wanted to do that.The two options I've got available for me to buy (from a8 parts) are: 4D0035192E or 4D0035192K What do I need? I know that I need (and can get) Double DIN cage Double DIN fascia surround GPS unit What extra cabling / connectors will I need? Will this be plug-and-play to any decent extent? I've got a 4D0035192H which has the following characteristics:
Partly given to me (many thanks johnny_quattro). Partly purchased. (cheers ScottB5) (The top GPS and base tuner/screen are a mix-and-match, or cut-and-shut, not originally together) The GPS drive is possibly a bit unreliable at reading the latest map CD's (copied), but OK with older (or copied) original ones (e.g. 2002/3). The copy protection was tightened up over the years and some drives struggle to deal with the latest map CD's. PM me if interested, just looking to cover my initial costs and postage. As for wiring, I don't know, but IIRC it's VERY similar but don't take my word for it. Obviously I have the code - as johnny_quattro knows only too well (bit of a saga there!)

Polestar performance "optimisation".  (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!  Finally: gone, but not forgotten..... 1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

It's do able if you got the right dash.
I can't answer that side of it cause I don't know D2s that well. But the wiring is easy. Just needs power, speed sensor and that's assuming your speakers are the same.

I think that thread says everything I have, apart from some gory details of the TV and CD connectors at the other end (in the boot).
If you have Bose you need to code the RNS correctly or you will only get sound from 2 speakers.
