the led pcb's are removable on the lights on your year, once removed you can desolder and replace the led's
If you don't want to do that I can sell you a pcb as i have a full set after replacing my lights for the facelift ones

It's so hard to match them apparently so I was wondering why you guys just don't replace all of them and then the whole indicator strip will have matching ones and won't look odd
Just a suggestion Then the spare ones, original ones, could help others on forum with similar problems

That's not a bad idea really.
Is an individual LED that fails?

It's generally down to condensation causing corrosion on the led legs. About half of my indicators are out and two brake LEDs. It should be possible to just resolder them to fix the poor connection, but if they get too hot, the LEDs break. This has happened with one of the brake LEDs and about 8 of the indicators
![]() I am more than up for full replacement, although that does mean removing and replacing about 60 individual LEDS and the removed ones are likely to be useless. knowing me, I would probably want to do both sides too so they matched!

For those that may want to do the repair themselves, it is pretty straightforward, and a solder sucker was invaluable for the old ones.
These red ones from maplin were a good match on mine for the brake LEDs http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/5mm-red-led-n26fn but be warned, they are £1.44 Each I ended up buying yellows from ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350525613304) as I needed 8 in the end (i broke several during testing with a 9v battery), but the colour match on those is not quite right

Somerandomguy: you mentioned that you broke some using a 9V battery, does that mean that these are not able to take 9V or 12V? I notice that the Maplin ones state that the 'reverse voltage max' is 5V?
I think i've managed to fry so many of mine doing the same testing with a 12V battery? but what I don't understand is that they seem to work intermittently when testing with a 12V battery? ![]()

Most led's are less than 12v,
When used in a 12v situation like a car the a wired in series to prevent going over the forward voltage rating of the led. So make sure you do your homework and work out the max voltage for each led before testing with a separate power source.
