Just try disconnecting the battery again and reconnect cleanly without arcing.

Mmmm when I had all my electrics out of the boot I had the same issue as you report. I don't know what was in there that would cause that but check the fuses above the battery that feed the fuses on the passenger side in the cubby hole in the boot, also check the fuses on the little fuse board in the cubby too.

Thanks to M-A8 and sending me the cable I have scanned for codes and this is what I have got:
  The above is from the KESSY - anything else required (can't find any documentation on using the software.......) Mean anything to anyone?

It says permanent error, electrical fault.
I think VCDS shows same code 003 for Malfunctioned units. Manual would be ideal here. If its not working at all, how about if you start adaptation and see if that gets you somewhere. When module is completely DEAD or driver is lost, you wouldn't be able to connect to it at all, like it's not even installed, you can, so a bit of good news I think Look at this first you have enable coding and then code it http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index..._Authorization
