I'm already planning a trip to Cheshire for a gearbox service, LG8 plus software update.
Any one fancy a trip there from London area, we may get a discount?? or not

Good luck on the discount front, I didn't manage one .
...Or make it a mini-meet? I'd be happy to sign up for that, and there's a few others in the North West who may be also around, depending on timing….

I've got no hopes for any discount, but if 2-3 cars would be heading from far away to them it could possibly work.
Mini meet - oh yeah, great idea

No response from Audi on the request for a quote for a gearbox service.

Never mind car booked in for Cambelt, Oil and Gearbox service at a local VAG specialist instead [+]

M-A8, It is a good idea but its just too far for me really or I would have joined you.

Anyone got their box serviced yet and did it make a improvement with anything?

Just booked mine in gearbox service tomorrow, see if that helps with the any of the niggles I have.
If its dry monday I will drip and clean my EGR valve/pipe work and see what happens.

Which place you going???
I looked at Mackie's and they garage looks absolutely PRO, reputation is outstanding and so many recommendations here that it's hard to say no.
If everything will go well with the trip to Annual Meet, I may do it then and leave few hours earlier, and meet the train of 8s from London/South somewhere in there so I don't drive there on my own.

I'm such a ***, I meant Chester Transmissions, or Mackies if annual meet trip will go ahead.

Guys, is Chester Transmissions as good as Mackies, are they ZF specialists as well??
