Default A7 what do we think

Evening Folks
Well whilst looking for an 8
I have just been offered a cracking deal on a well spec'd A7!
Its the 3 litre TDi full fat version Quattro
with BOSE in S line trim full MMI from what I can see so far
below 10K miles too 2011 car
In a met grey colour not sure of the name at this stage S line trim dark grey leather memory seats
I haven't even considered one of these tbh but it looks a lovely motor
Any thoughts folks anyone have one of these or any experience of them. They appear to be very like the A8 with a sportier aspect.
Any thoughts guidance appreciated as always
Cheers Glyn

Neil had one for a bit and seemed pleased (sure he'll be along soon).

I'm seriously tempted by one instead of a D4 for my next motor.

I think they're a cracking looking motor, but based on the A6 I believe, not the A8

Someone I know has one, though I haven't looked at it very closely. A quick inspection seemed not quite a "refined" as the A8, though better than most of course.

2003 D2 FL S8. Irish Green Pearl/Beige. Solar sunroof, auto-dim mirrors, electric rear seat functions and extended leather. Ski hatch retrofit. Aftermarket reversing camera. DVB-T and XCarlink now removed as redundant.
2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I drove one at a posh event which Essex Audi put on at a country house close to me, it was a black 3.0TDI with black styling pack and the big 'propeller' style 5-spoke wheels with the silver swoosh at the top of each spoke. It was the manager's car at the time so pretty much had every option box ticked, including air suspension and twin pane glass - both of which I've been spoilt with for the past few years!

Definitely wasn't as refined as an A8 but it did feel sporty for a four door car and as though you could throw it around if you wanted. The steering was a little to electronic for my liking and lacked proper feel.

Had a blast in an SQ5 after that and what a rocket!!

Yes had exactly that model as a Company Car. Test drove both an A7 and an A8 beforehand and did a full report on This Thread Here which might interest you.
It went pretty well as standard did about 42 mpg and 500nm of torque but I found a bolt on tuning box which upped that to 47mpg and 600nm of torque and it was certainly fast and drove in a more sporty way than an 8 - didn't feel like the size it was.

There are a few pics here and elsewhere on the forum. My main reason for wanting a 7 was the fact that it was a large hatchback so you could get huge amounts into it with the seats folded but the car looked more interesting than a large estate car. The interior was what the interior of the new A6 was based upon, but the car is a bit of a hybrid chassis wise with more aluminium than the A6 but less than the A8.

That's great much appreciated. I was a little bit baffled by the differences in the mmi I and the sat nav as some cars were listing memory card based systems but this particular car appears to have the large screen more expensive version.
If you don't mind I'll drop you a pm with a link and perhaps you could give me your thoughts on the spec as it's not with an Audi dealer and I think they perhaps aren't aware of the full spec! I'll find out today more of the history as the mileage is sub 10k which is strange but also attractive to me! I do like the look of them and your night shots were stunning
Thanks again, am I allowed back into the forum if I go a7
Cheers glyn
