Just replaced mine as I had on occasion the random warning light on the dash for the ESP.
The one pulled out from the D3 was brown and part number 3B0 945 511, plus it had a shorter plunger on than the new one purchased. I bought for £10 from eBay a Variant2 Kerr Nelson Brake Light Switch. The plunger and travel was a lot longer which confused me at first as I thought hello its the wrong part. Reading up its a later design, all fitted and the brake lights work fine and no ESP light anymore.
