Default Issues found by garage

My car is in for a bit of work and a couple of things have been found.

The emissions light has come on twice since February and gone off again within a day. From memory they said manifold flaps of some sort were logged in the computer as sticking open. Would this sound correct? If so, what do they do and would they have any noticeable affect on the car? It drives 100%.

They also said a "connector" on the turbo was broken and it flagged on the computer. The computer itself functions perfectly, but I'm just wondering what this connector is? Does a turbo have an electrical "plug" as such on it? The service guy is speaking to the technician again and will get back to me tomorrow, but I'm just curious.

There is a vibration noise in 5th when you accelerate at 35-40ish too. I took a technician out to show it to him and it tune out he was a mulitronic specialist. Apparently the box has an ECU that "remembers" the way you drive, so they are going to reset it first as he thinks it might cure it. Seem plausible? It only has 66k on it so the box oil isn't due to be changed for another 14k or 2 years.
