Where is this central convenience unit you speak of Del?
I recall from working with the compressor relay that there were at least two free/empty relay 'seats' there, however that's at the front passenger footwell hence probably not the most useful location for this. However I agree,it would be a very neat job if done that way. ![]() In fact I think I have a spare relay which I bought from the stealers As a backup for when I was dealing with the compressor! New project scope agreed! ![]()

Delboy, Share your findings mate.
Was toying with the idea of doing a plug in play loom. I'm with you. Solder it or use plugs, sod all that scotchlok crap. Its not a 1990 Nova. The free relay slots is a good idea but that makes the mod a bit more permanent and requires more work than a plug in play loom?

Indeed Scott if it were a relay slot from the car then it would be a bit permanent, it could easily made up with plugs like I said earlier but with a relay carrier so if the relay failed it could be easily swapped.
Spent some time last night looking at etka and elsa and think for the sake of speed and convenience the mid will be best placed I'm the battery compartment as that's where the central convenience unit is. Putting it there means larger plugs with more wires but like I said they are cheap. I'll keep you posted

Is there any relay holders near the battery?
The boot lid seems easier. More space to work and easier access to the plug. Unless I'm missing something?

Having worked in both areas I will go with battery compartment as there's no trim to remove.
If the mods plug and play the then it's a walk in the park

Due to recent work, I've had enough of that side of the car.
But you're right.
