Think my 8 has a death rattle...

I've been getting a rattle from, I think the transmission. When cold it kindof knocks on low gearbox speeds and when slowing down. It would go away after around 2 or 3 minutes of driving and be whisper quiet again. But today it's done it fairly consistantly. It will get quieter but now always there. My guess is maybe torque converter?

An odd one.

Are the gear changes still smooth, or have they become jerky? If jerky, do the rattles coincide with none-smooth up/down-shifts?

Thanks for the reply Siena. Finally found the problem...a cat had broken up. Got that sorted and we're back to quieter running!!
