This looks very impressive, literally Ultimate A8. Well done mate

Re: A5 headlights.
I thought you talking about this design as they actually look very similar

...but the ones from the picture look absolutely stunning on 8 I have to say, it's just not a straight swap.
Yes, near the wing bumper needs to be sculpt, but also bonnet needs a little work and bumper on the grill side, you sculpt a bit in line with top of the headlight, but they you also have to make up near the bottom corner of the headlight.

Shame I've just re-sprayed the whole front, but idea is rather interesting and it looks so good.

Then mounting points, that will require a bit of work as well I think.

If you do that, I will be well jealous

Great project, really impressive

I've highlighted the things in your list that I think I would like to do to my Car, there is possibilities that the retro fit of a TV module into a D3 has been covered on a thread before, but I wanted your opinions as you appear to have striped out most of the audio visual modules, plus it also bumps this which I consider to be a well worthy thread for others to read and follow.

I'm unlucky in the respect that my A8 D3 doesn't have any Video or TV, I have Sat Nav obviously and was told by the previous owner has watched films in it, but I've not worked out how. But regardless of this in my Evo I had a lovely double din unit which had Freeview all built in and would also play on the move, and this was something I really enjoyed... So I'm curious as you've plumbed it in front and rear with twin headrest screens, but which way have you gone about your retro fit?

And of course I've trawled Google images for d3's with aftermarket headlamps and nothing much their either.

Model: MY 2008 08 3.0TDI Quattro Sport, Black on Black (Transporter Edition) Lowered 60mm on drop link bars. Alloys swapped out to RS6 style 20" x 9.5". It's got full tints on all windows, and has the black leather interior. Remapped by Elite Automotive in Cornwall, giving an increase output to 290bhp/450lbs.

Options: Keyless Entry & Start, Bluetooth Hands Free, Quad Zone Climate, 3 Spoke Sports Tiptronic Multi Function Steering Wheel, Black Leather Comfort Seats, AMI, Drivers & Passenger Electric Memory Seats, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Bi-Xenons.

Future Plans:
Selling my current Audi A8 Quattro Sport and replace is with a newer D4 Audi A8L with the 4.2V8 Twin Turbo setup once again it must be black. I'm looking for one with the options added where it has the rear recliing seats, with heated outers. Bose speakers minimum and B&O's if affordable. Rear and back door sun blinds prefered.

Planned Mods:
Upon the arrival of my A8L D4, I will be once again having the ECU remapped to a performance setting over economy. Rear Tints as dark as can go whilst also tinting the front windows with a medium tint. Once again I will be purchasing lowering links for the air ride suspension and setting it at 55mm lower when in comfort as my desire rideheight over standard. Alloys will be 21" however the one current most likly to be the next car already has a brand new set of 2016 S8Plus wheels on it.

Ok so... headlights the ones above are indeed A5 but they are pre facelift A5 so they dont have the bulge in them. They would go straight in with minimal faffing ...the 2012 lights however are simmilar to an automatrix led
you can fit them and use vag com to code them as the advanced drl lights with fixed corner lamp

as for tv..well I was lucky to have tv as standard if you post a picture of what is in your boot gubbins il have a look. But as far as im aware you need to run the Green Coax cable from the front all the way to the boot .. you need a different MMI brain I think and said tv box.. im not sure if you have the fiber optic most bus network cable or if you would have to run it through

Never be afrade of trying anything I had to battle running cables with an lpg tank bolted in the boot ! Not easy

on to ACC next and gearbox service

Yeah I have enough on at the moment with just getting back to how Audi had intended, the Headlight issue, and tonight a popped hose from the steering fluid system. although that appears to be getting sorted. But the TV does sound good, some of the ones that I test drove had it in and I was impressed with it, and somehow I like the car I have no so much, being black and 2008 facelift etc... that I didn't even notice thee TV not being there. However it is listed on a "to do if possible" list and if there is a case of adding a module to the car and then using the media button on my panel to select it so that the module activates then that would be great. After all I'm pretty sure that there must be many an Audi A8 out there breaking with all of the bits that the car needs to do this, the paying for it is the easy bit once cash has been saved, but as I've found with everything on this car so for doing the slightest thing to it seems like a mission.

Regards, Mark.
