Spoke to him about it this long ago and he said he can't do it.

The Audi SMART key with the chrome end is quite sophisticated. It stores a log from the car so when you go for a service they pop it into a reader on the service desk and can see the mileage etc...fault codes...if any additional work may be required before they even look at the car.
