Hmmm... Your adaptive cruise seems to be set a tad higher than the national speed limit....

Makes perfect sense, as the car will adjust to suit and when the ol bill feels Ian's collar he can honestly say he wasn't responsible. it was the car in front

Regarding warranties, I think that generally the manufacturer backed new and approved used warranties are usually good for the job, it's one of the reasons I bought the M3 on the approved used scheme.

However, when they offered me the extension after 12 months I declined.

The main common issue with M3s is the throttle actuators, at about £1,200 per bank.

I would have had to taken their bells and whistles top level warranty to have that covered, and they wanted £1053 per annum (no excess) or £664 (£250 excess).

For that money, I'd rather take the risk, and put the £1053 into a savings account to self-insure.

Ian, odd question perhaps, but how does it sound?

I mean engine/induction/exhaust rather than speakers obviously.

Just wondering how it compares to previous V8s and V10s?

Well, its obviously infinitely better than the soot chooker equivelents, but if you're looking for any sort of throaty throb, you may be dissapointed.

There is definitely a great deal of focus on fuel efficiency, with stop/start etc.

Having just come out of the S6, which was eager to say the least, they are chalk and cheese. The S6 was on a mission to empty the tank as quickly as possible, with complete disregard for the planet, cost of fuel or trying to complete a round trip without having to fill up. But god it sounded good when you nailed it.

This takes a bit more waking up, partly as im sure its eco focussed for its lower tax disc and quoted MPG figures, but also because its supercharged and starts to pull harder a bit higher up the rev range. I've only driven it twice, and not really had a good sporty session in it yet, so getting used to it, but it seems to respond well to paddles, sport mode and a heavy right foot....
