Goran - You say that about the steering wheel, but I took a photo of the build codes sticker in the manual to compair between it and mine and these are the differences

NEW

3FQ = Electric sliding/pop-up sun roof with automatic pre-selection
5ME = Vavona wood insert "amber", high-gloss
0JK = Weight category front axle weight range 10
8JJ = Headlight with gas discharge lamp for driving on the left
2ZQ = Leather trimmed multi-function steering wheel for air bag system
7K1 = Tire pressure warning light
4KV = Side and rear windows in laminated glass
4GM = Laminated windshield, with sunshield andviewing window for vehicle identification number, heated

MY OLD ONE

3FE = Electric slide/tilt sunroof with sun screen/sunblind
5MG = Decorative inserts, burr-walnut
0JL = Weight category front axle weight range 11
8EC = Bi-functional headlight with gas discharge lamp, for driving on the left
2ZP = Leather trimmed sports steering wheel for air bag system with tiptronic and "S" badge
7K0 = Without tire pressure warning light
4KP = Side and rear windows, acoustic glass
4GP = Windshield in heat-insulating glass withsunshield and viewing window for vehicleidentification number

Not the build code for the multifunction steering wheel 2ZQ so it came from the factory like that!

Must admit i'm curious about what the WEIGHT RANGE 10/11 means and how is Acoustic glass different to the Laminated one ???

It was me that mentioned the steering wheel - I always thought the tiptronic controls stayed with the S8 irrespective of whether a MFSW was ordered, but looking at the PR codes there were a lot of variations, which I suspect was down to cost and country?

Pretty sure Notorious has the full monty heated leather MFSW with tiptronic, but it's a retrofit on his as it's a 3.7

2ZS would be for MFSW with tiptronic and 2ZD for heated as well.

The S8 badge doesn't look like it was designed to sit there, which was why I mentioned it.

On an X reg, the tiptronic + multifunction steering wheel wasn't available yet...... You could have a 3 spoke tiptonic, or the 4 spoke multifunction, or the 4 spoke heated, or the 4 spoke poverty 'SE' type wheel with just an airbag. Later on you would get the option for the tiptonic + multifunction (with or without heating) but it was by no means a default....

Agreed that s8 badge/sticker is a horric stick on extra, but the wheel itself is likely genuine factory fit.

Hi There,

Must admit I didn't realise you could get an MFSW on the S8 at all. I'd have hapily swapped my tiptronic version for one years back. I know that there was a retrofit of a later model that some people did but it needed fudging of the muti stage to single stage airbag and even if you could get the airbag light to go out there was rumours that they didn't work in a crash and you know saftey stuff I think is best left alone, no matter how much i'd like to control track and volume on my stereo!
