I intend to extend my AMI lead from the glovebox into the centre console somewhere, probably either under the armrests or into the cup holder.
Does anyone have a guide from removing the centre console, or whatever bits I would need to allow access to undertake this? |

It's very easy. Ash tray out, unscrew one torx screw behind it and pull the whole console up, but gently because of the wires, job done

No other screws??
How much actually pops up? Literally the whole lot right to the armrest? |

From the rear cup holders to below HVAC unit lifts up.
The rear arm rests just as easy. Pop the cap off from the back, you can see the join line, use something plastic to lift it off. couple of of Torx and its away. I think there is a couple of threads with info and pics. I'll look.

Can the tray below the amrests be removed without actually taking the armrests themselves out?

You should be able to get your hand down after removing center console and push the tray up, but as Scott already mentioned, its as easy to remove the armrest.
You'll be fine. It's stupidly easy mate ![]() Good luck with the mod and share some pictures as well.

Excellent, cheers.
Just to need to order a 30pin iPod extension cable then wait for my 30 pin to Lightning adapter to arrive. I reckon under the armrest would be the best place for it, theres not much room for a phone to sit where the sup holders are. Just a bit awkward to plug in and out! Would love a spec.dock style mount for the ash tray, but cant justify the £ and although I made one for my TT, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle again. |
