The changer bolts in with 4 bolts (10 mm i think) so i'd be tempted to take it out and pop it some where warm and dryish indoors for a few hours then try it again to see if that makes it work, if it does, find the leak and sort it out, then dry the boot out, if not i'm sure a second hand one won't be too hard to find.

Thanks, I was thinking much the same. I felt the GPS unit/changer yesterday and there was the definite whiff of damp/cold. I'll probably try to air it out somehow, plug dehumidifier in there etc. The leak really isn't big enough to worry about... Damp rather than wet!
