To me coming from a 317 lbft S8 your RS6 was amazing as it was before, I cant even imagine how terrifying it is now.

Also good to see the D3 transmissions can handle this ridiculous amount of torque, definitely not weak like the old HP24A's
Goran, I've not checked the 0-60. It was 0-60 in 3.8, 0-100 7.8 IIRC on the old map (Vbox).

Tell you what car is an animal on the 1/4 mile/0-60. The TT RS, stage two MRC. They are doing 0-60 in 3.0 dead, 0-100 in 7.1!! It had left my by a few car lengths at Bruntingthorpe, reeled it in and passed eventually (on to a speedo 204MPH) but still impressive.

Have you checked what the 'off road' performance is like in the A7?

And, for you Richard, that doesn't mean 'mud-plugging, it means all 4 wheels off the road!

Hmmm. I was afraid of that. Good on paper but not actually much fun....

That rules that out then...

Amar - Is there a register anywhere officially or unofficially of the C6 RS6 Plus's that were registered in the UK - Im guessing theres probably only a hundred or so.... ?

There's not one I'm aware of. There will be less than a hundred. I believe there's less than 300 C6 RS 6's in the UK overall, 289 rings a bell, maybe 50 UK odd UK plus, if that.

I almost went for number 401 a few days ago. Kicking myself now for missing it.

It was still under Audi warranty which I saw as a huge plus....?

Presumably if its under Audi warranty its extendible for x number of years / mileage but if theres been a break I guess its mega bux to get back in warranty...

Im also assuming buying from a dealer gives a year of same Audi warranty that is also extendible or is dealer 2nd hand warranty different....?

3.0 to 60 is completely insane, that's a suprebike.

I had a decent test of both the new RS4 in saloon and cabrio versions, it is fun to drive but I was left underwhelmed. Definitely not a big enough jump in performance from D2 S8 to justify the cost.
Still 317 lbft and it acheived its punchiness partially from the DTC gearbox and mainly from hanging onto gears like a nutter in sport mode or whatever its called. Can you say 3500 to 4000 rpms at 30mph! Ridiculous.
Give me 450+ lbft from 1000rpm instead please.

I'm watching with interest on the outcome of this - hopefully you'll keep it long enough till my next car arrives in the summer and we can compare: 4wd, 0-60 in 3 secs and 691 bhp should make for an interesting btb comparison...

Year of Audi warranty and it'll be mechanically and cosmetically perfect. Sometimes they've got an extra years warranty if you take their funding, it's worth doing as you can pay off early as I pay £1,600 for the warranty and you won't have to pay that in interest if you don't follow the term to the end. I think the minimum borrowing amount is £7k.

You can still take the warranty with gaps, stipulation is full Audi history. If you google Audi warranty you can get an online quote, it's underwritten by Mondial but Audi branded, drop your car at an Audi dealer and you get Audi Assist, payout is painless as they pay the dealership directly.

These cars are very reliable, the DRC + engine and gearbox seem indistructable. The V10 was a properly engineered RS 6 vs the C5 which just seemed thrown together.

I know which car you're getting, and if I had the money that's the car I would get above anything else. Forget Bentleys, Rolls, even Veyrons

I keep checking prices of the old version on autoscout24, hoping they will come down below the £30k mark.
