Poll... Keep the A7 or get an RS6 ?

ive driven 3 RS6's
and i nearly bought one last xmas

ther not all spec'd up the same
look for soft close doors,rear camera,keyless entry and start,tv,ami and any other goodies
the price is definitely spec orientated

and i share your passion for one now they are coming down in price
this is the one i would buy if it was a tad cheaper

I ruled out that one on no adaptive cruise. Oh, and the somewhat optimistic pricing, especially this time of year. Someone might dig their hands into their deeps pockets for it, but for 15K ish more you can get a C7 with even less miles and most of its factory warranty, and that's a bit of a no brainer....

I think virtually any C6 RS6 north of 40K is dreaming now, and for high 30's it needs to be something really, really special. And I don't think there's more than a handful of that kind of special left....

i only have a stock C5 RS6 but have driven a few C6 RS6 and those are insane with a stage 1 tune, stock might have not blown me away when coming from 450hp and close to 600NM, but all the ones i drove were either a stage 1 or 2 and it's sooo fast on a straight line that it should be banned from road legal use as a family car

I've only just driven a '13 A7 3.0T past weekend overloaded with features but TBH the power didn't make an impression on me, yeah, great toys and gearbox, but the power is just not there in the way the V8/V10 turbo delivers it, you know what they say, there is no replacement for displacement....and couple of turbos

However the A7 feels more agile while the C6 feels heavy in tight corners, it does super well for its weight but it is after all a straight line bullet car.

Conclusion, go get that RS6 . But look for one with warranty!

I agree with all of that.....

The A7 power delivery isn't what you'd expect, but then its a supercharger, not a turbo charger so in theory, it should be more linear and less super whoosh anyway. However, in these days of eco-friendly boo hissery the super charger is very much a part time addition to the equation, and when it kicks in, you get the very whoosh you thought you would never get lol...

It took me a while to get the hang of making it get a wriggle on, but to be fair once mastered it does make for some very reasonable pace making - And it certainly does handle well above what it should do for something that size.

And the rest of the time it quietly sips at the petrol wafting along practically doing the driving for you....

I guess a bit of remap and pulley swapping and it would chuck out 400+ bhp like the S4's.....

i agree the 3.0t engines are a masterpiece with a lot of potential, have also driven an S4 B8 which was close to 420hp and it was fast, no doubt about it but it still misses the grunt of the V8/V10.

So you could say about the 2.0T which pumps out now close to 300hp on the R and the new S3, i had a '12 GTI stage 1 and there's quite a few running close to 350-400hp on GTI's and R's, they are good engines with great potential, but the feeling you get from a proper twin-turbo V configuration engine is totally addictive and apart.

Good luck with your debate but i think once you'll drive the C6 and get a bite of that monstrous torque you'll be sold to it, i think you've already done that so we pretty much know what's your next car

Yup... Been fancying an A7 for a wee while, and the many, many buttons in this were too tempting to pass up.

First impressions so far.. It's a great car, not quite as refined as the '8, but similar levels of luxury with a bit more responsiveness. Just had a motorway cruise home really, so not had the chance to play with it properly.
