Default 2002 Audi S8 - LPG'd!

GHi

thanks for looking at my advert for my 2002 Audi S8 which comes with a service file going back to the original sale and all owners documentation is present as befits the Audi flagship of it's day!
The LPG kit is an OMVL direct injection kit which runs via the original Audi ECU, the 60 litre tank is fitted within the spare wheel well so boot is unobstructed (and huge!). This allows this 360BHP/4 wheel drive/double glazed car to be run at Ford Focus fuel costs. This kit cost £3k to fit and runs seamlessly, I’ve got it set up to run on LPG from idle to 5k RPM and on either wide open throttle or above 5K it runs on petrol so the performance and economy is maximised (Equivalent petrol costs are about 32-34 MPG).

A replacement gearbox was fitted last year (£3K bill at Scotlands only ZF approved garage), the gearbox’s on these can fail at higher mileages (the last one lasted for 160K miles however) The car also had a full cambelt change at 158K (which included all rollers/water pump and thermostat - an expensive job due at every 80K and why you see A8's and S8's being sold at this mileage with this undone). The car comes with a fresh MOT and has just had the inner track rod ends replaced and tracking done (All of the other front suspensions arms, including the outer track rod ends, were previously replaced as a complete set) and has just had it’s bi-annual brake fluid change.
All wheels previously refurbished/diamond cut, however they are beginning to mark up again, all wheel centres replaced at that point, recent front tyres (Bridgestone Potenza's) the rears are Michelins and are getting near to the wear limit and will need replaced within 6 months or so.
Both catalytic convertors previously replaced, brakes in great condition with lots of mileage left on discs/pads, oil and all filters recently changed (showing just under 6K to next service). LPG just serviced by original installer. The only known glitch is that the battery pack within the alarm box discharges if the car is left to sit causing occasional random beeping from the boot!

The interior is in excellent condition, has the Bose upgrade Hifi complete with integrated Sat Nav, the dealer fitted rear seat entertainment package (Which consists of a 10 disc DVD changer and a Playstation 2 in the boot along with the standard CD changer) this has a roof mounted drop down screen and concealed interior controls, both of the wireless headsets were recently replaced after the ear pads started to crumble, floor mats replaced with genuine Audi ones, electric rear screen sun blind and manual side sun blinds fitted along with a sunroof.

The heated/memory black leather Recaro manufactured seats are in excellent condition and are fully functional, the interior is a very comfortable place to be.

Standard spec also includes bi-Xenon headlamps, Audi ESP, ABS, parking sensors, remote boot unlocking, very extensive leather trim, sports mode gear changing with steering wheel manual switching, double glazed side windows, built in telephone (working and supplied with car) Audi DIS and aluminium door mirrors to let everybody know you are driving an S8!

I’ve owned this car for 6 years (Previous owner was the MD of Derby County FC) and despite it having completed 172k please don’t mistake it for a tired average specification car. It’s as competent and as tight now as it was when I got it, its brilliant family transport and an awesome autobahn express. It comes in an excellent colour combination (Ming Blue Pearlescent with black leather) and still turns heads.

The car is located in Dalgety Bay, Scotland.

Offers circa £4250 please.

Thanks, it's been a great car. Whilst I like the D4, it's not got the character or presence of the S8.

Great Car, Great Owner, Lovely location and a wonderful drive home

Its good to be back in a D2.

I can think of few other cars that would take 400 miles on a Friday night so well in their stride.

Do I miss the D3? Not a bit.

Thank you Will!

It means a lot to us that the car has gone to somebody with such genuine enthusiasm for the car.

I hope it continues to impress!

Regards!
