Quattro rules
Our local (Bristol / Somerset area) BBC just had slot following around volunteer 4x4 drivers ferrying key workers etc to remote snow bound areas. Rather than the usual Landrover the guy had an Audi Allroad! Best bit was when he pulled out a Disco that the driver had managed to stuff into a snow drift

The 'jumped up rally car' pulling out, supposedly, the best off roader in the world.
Priceless! |

If you have 4 wheel drive then it's all down to tyres in the snow. Difflocks and traction control might help too.
My son's Merc ML does extremely well with his new General Grabber tyres, they are a softer rubber and seem to grip and get rid of the snow out of the tread whereas my Discovery is all over the place with it's BFG All Terrains which are as hard as a whore's heart and provide no grip at all! Next tyre change I know which ones will be going on it. |
