Default How hate turns to Love !!!!!

How is this for a story.
PART ONE
After 4 long weeks of frustration my 8 is back on the road. As you I posted a thread concerning my suspension problems. I decided to bite the bullet and get sorted once and for all. After removing the compressor which was rusty and in bad condition decided ready the only way to fix was to buy a compressor from TPS priced at nearly £1000 went into looking on the old interweb and came across a company from Holland called Air Suspension Shop who offered a solution to my problem with a years warranty for £320.00 delivered hard to believe i know.I rang them with my pump part no found them very helpful, paid them package arrived in two days fitted the compressor same problem after removing the wheel arch liner and tracing the wiring from the compressor to the ECU came across a broken wire soldered the wire and heat shrinked the repair started it up and what a feeling of joy NO lights on dash and the 8 rising from the ground. Compressor so quiet all functions working and for the money job well done.
PART TWO (really hated my 8 by this time)
My power steering started making some bad noises and vibration through the steering column and after some discussion with various people. It was decided the pump was the problem. Simple I thought but as my car which is
a AUDI A8L 4.2 FSI model with the later BVJ engine the pump is shaft driven and is behind the block (NIGHTMARE) the cost from TPS £1150 inc vat waited 10 days for this to arrive as it was on back order. It would of taking longer if I had not complained to Audi customer service twice a week. Fitted the pump
and guess what still the same noise. So now it's the rack to be replaced rang TPS only to told on back order. so back on the old interweb and came across this company in Devon KELLY BRAY STEERING who are the most helpful people I have talked to. They arranged collection and delivered it back to me
in four days with one years warranty for £260 inc vat . So while this was being done decided to have 2 of my wheels refurbished as to save time when my car was off the road. picked them up next day left them in the van which is in a locked compound only to find the next day some thieving little scroats
had broken into the van and taken them. What good would 2 wheels be to anyone. 2 new wheels ordered arrived next day fitted 2 tyres and placed back on the 8. And so on Friday after driving my 8 for just 2 miles my HATE
turns back to LOVE. So after spending nearly £3000.00 in parts and labour
I just have to tell my wife I've spent the holiday money.
Spent Monday getting her back to glory. Hope you enjoy the photos

Ouch! Even my pocket hurt at that tale. And a lot of the cash was spent unnecessarily.

Sorry to hear all that....but it does look good now. You'll just have to take the Mrs on a holiday in the car. (not staying anywhere, just in the car ).

Could you not exchange/ return the old pump to TPS and get something back? Or offer it to Kelly Bray Steering or our forum sponsors? Just a thought - it might be worth a try.
