but le bourget is officially not in paris , it's a commune with it's own council /mayor/budget etc
if you want to be precise I suppose our friend boris is mayor to perhaps 3 times as many people as the mayor of paris ; what both have in common is that a lot of local decisions are made in smaller units contained within the city , called arrondisments in paris and boroughs in london ...but what's in a name !

I managed to check out most of the museum hangers at Le Bourget, some nice stuff in there. The airshow was a bit dissapointing though, way too crowded and crowd control poorly organised.
Lack of any new jets on display, no F-35, F-22s, no Hornets even and they are fairly old too. No Russian military jets at all, not even the promised mock-up of the new T-50.
There was a relatively new Chinese jet which did some aerobatics, that was interesting.
I'm just going to have to go to MAKS one year, that's going to be a proper air show.
