seen the masts advertised in the usa recently

Bought a new aerial in the end. From Amazon and pretty cheap but actually seems decent and even included a mounting grommet that matches the original. Radio now works!
After fitting it and took the old one apart, straightened the slightly bowed mast and put it back together properly after zeroing it. It now fully extends and retracts, though I think it has had a replacement mast before - which is about half the length of the original. I'm sticking with the new one. Nick
