Is it not an offence to leave the scene without exchanging details?

Hope you got her number plate?

It is.
But it's also an offence to refuse the exchange of details.
I headed mine over.
I have photographic
And video evidence of me doing so.

I guess it's all on her now.

See what letters we get when we get home tomorrow.
No emails or text messages at the moment.
It's a little bit annoying that I got no idea what's going on but I guess it's only been a week.

Thanks Tony.
It's only been a year in the waiting.

Really sorry to hear about the knock. I was almost hit in the side by someone entering a traffic controlled area from a side road the other day. I drove into the kerb to avoid hitting them. They drove off but i did catch up and they then raised there hand in what i suppose was a "my (i.e. their) fault" gesture. Mrs D strongly advised i didnt get out the car and start an argument - they had kids in the back (who I would have hit in the side if I hadnt stopped).

Dont suppose there's any chance of getting a statement from the traffic control operative?

Scott,
Congrats to you both on the nuptials.
Hope that you manage to sort it all out easily.
I had an incident once where a chap in a small van dived out of a side road from my right. I realised that thereb was an old lady in the pax seat so swerved to my left, caught the kerb and was pulled into a lamp post. Car badly damaged, the lamp post is still there, and the van drove off. Luckily a car travelling in the opposite direction had a quick thinking driver who pulled across and forced him to stop. Because traffic in both directions was blocked the police attended and sorted it all out for me.
The strange thing was he had the same insurance as a bloke that had driven into my back a few weeks earlier and they had already forked out for those repairs.
The hard part of all this apart from the inconvenience is that if the fault driver has an excess you have to beat it out of him unless you are insured for any and all excess charges.
It is an offence to leave the scene of a RTC(RTA in old money) without exchanging details. I think legally it becomes a "hit & run".

Thanks lads.

I think it does but she stayed there, I left lol

I reported it to the police and insurance.
So I should be ok.

Sat in Mauritius's airport at the moment.
Waiting for our flights home.

I'll give them a ring on Monday and see what happens.

Hope the honeymoon wasnt spoiled by you being overly concerned about your car otherwise Mrs Scott might take a dim view of the strength of your attachment to the car as opposed to her!
Safe journey home.

Thanks all.

The honeymoon was fine.
Petting the tigers kind of took my mind off it.

Phoned the insurance company up and asked for an update.
They heard from the other party's insurance company.
She's saying that she was parked and I drove in to her.
She's got a witness as well and they are waiting for their statement.

I've not been to a body shop yet for a quote.

I will soon as I got time I will.
