as many of you will know motorhomes are particularly hard on batteries , especially when used to power such things as TV's , sat systems , lights , pumps etc

needing some replacements I have been researching the market and one thing I have learned is what is the best thing available for the A8 !

you may not be aware that the worlds biggest producer of vehicle batteries is an american company called johnson controls ; they make a variety of qualities and many of the brands on the market are actually made by them
some years ago they purchased the varta group , and the introduction of stop/start vehicles required improved batteries due to the number of cycles ; a side effect of this is that these batteries are also superior for vehicles with a large current consumption due to the equipment fitted , an A8 being a pretty typical example of such a vehicle

because of the regeneration equipment fitted to some stop/start vehicles johnson produce 2 different batteries for this market under their varta premium brand ...the range that they called silver dynamic AGM is the one that suits non stop/start vehicles ....the advantage in that application are that they accept a higher charge rate and last for a greater number of cycles [ which is why they can give a 5 year guarantee ]
