Default A8 power upgrades , whoooohooooo ......

Areet suckers ..... errr i mean forum members , finally got around to power upgrading my car its the 4.2 tdi , i use CMD flash supplied from my man in Ireland David Wishart of Torx Tronix ....he writes all my files and does tweaks and mods for what i want

I have had mine power upgraded by 30% so around another 90 bhp , full egr deletion and the dpfs written out also , still havent gutted the dpfs as yet but will get to it , i can still monitor the differential pressure from the dpf sensors so will know if they start to clog up .Both the main and the slave ecms get flashed

Anyone who has the 4.2 tdi know there pretty good in standard form but oh my !! its frekkin quick now , the power just builds and builds and it even seems to change gears faster and generally feels 'sharper' my 'arse in the seat dyno' tells me the 90bhp increase is true , not sure on the torq figure but it certainly gives a big grin on the 'grin o meter '

Any forum members i can do the power upgrade for £250 plus vat we normally charge £300 plus vat and before we do the upgrade we do a full check on the engine e.g. cylinder contribution , egr , mass air flow , swirl flaps make sure that everything is working how it should , ideally i need the car for the day to do all the tests and depending how busy David is to get the file back to me

Its funny the amount of folk who bring cars to us for chip tuning and the car is dog slow to start with , i say you dont want it chipping you want it fixing first , duff air mass meters , blowing boost pipes , stuck open egr valves , swirls stuck closed and so on .....get it right first then upload the tune file .

Nice one Lee
Mine is only a 3.0 TDI and has already been remapped and it made a big difference, and uses much less fuel.

Hi Lee, mine's a 3.0 too. I might be interested in a remap if like above it could improve MPG in addition to more POWA!

Yes in most cases the fuel consumption gets better , more torque and engine efficiency = better fuel mileage , I won't give bull**** inflated figures but normallly 3/4 mpgs better , every car make is different some get 7/8 mpgs , my old hdi Peugeot went around 6 mpg better after remap and dpf deletion , egr blanked off , plus with egr turned off you don't get the black death in the manifold tracts .

Yeah but more harmful to the planet .... just adding to the VAG group emission lies eh ?? !

I think my wife's A4 would benefit from this, for fuel consumption purposes only of course

Yes for sure , on that model you could write out the troublesome inlet manifold runners also , I've drove them with and without them working and cannot tell any difference on the road .... again I think it's more of an emission regulation device .

Did you notice any increase in combustion noise when coming off the overrun?
I did with EGR disabled on the 2.5TDI and 3.0TDI so went back.

Was that disabling egr on a mapped car or on a standard file , i have heard what your on about like a diesel crackle not so much on overrun because you would think injection has stopped but on light throttle loads ,but yes, i know what you mean

Carnt say i have heard the noise on a mapped car with torx tronics files that is , it is possible to alter pilot injection to ease any crackle when egr has been disabled.

The 2.5 tdi and 3l are a bit more noisy aswell the 4.2 is a very quiet engine to start with , ive done quiet alot of the tune files on all different brands not hasd any complaints of noise as of yet , but yes interesting point
