MMI2 Update - "metainfo2 txt not found"

This could be a rather short lived attempt to update my system!

I downloaded the 3 5570 discs from https://a6retrofit.com/mmi-software-...1-5570-5-5-70/ and have burnt them at 10x speed (as slow as my laptop would do it)

Am attempting to start the update, I select CD ROM in the red SWUpdate menu and after a few seconds it says "metainfo2 text not found" and wont let me start the update.

Im upgrading from version 4220 to 5770 - as I understand it from various forums I can upgrade in one go without needing interim versions - is this right?

So, what am I doing wrong - have I burnt the discs wrong? Am I attempting to large an upgrade step between versions?

Im going to burn the discs again but if anyone has any advice please share!

I personally would take a visit to the local TPS and buy the original disc (4L0998961), it's about £5.40 and should be with you tomorrow.

Have you the BT module? Do you have VCDS ready should you need?

If you were near I'd help you.

Hi Matty, cheers for the reply.

Turns out I'm a total pillock, and hadn't burnt the discs properly. Seems I'm an IT noob as much as I am an A8 noob!

Anyway, new discs sorted it out, and I seem to be all updated now. Although I seem to have lost one or two functions, I think a separate thread is needed!

Cheers for that Mannyo - turns out I hadn't lost the Battery Meter or Instrument Cluster options, but there are a couple of other things missing - am going to post them in another thread so this one doesn't go off topic!
