Here we go again..........Heater Woes
Well, it's that time of year, and you expect the heater to work?
Nope, took a ride today, and the only heat was off the heated seats. Where is it? Are they easy to change? Cheers

Not had an issue with heat but there has been issues with electric coolant pumps.

Sounds depressingly similar to the Auxiliary Coolant Pump that afflicts D2s and I think D3s to a lesser extent.

Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later) 1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850! |

Yes, I had this on my car - was repaired under warranty so no idea of cost - but I don't think it was a huge job! Good luck.

Thanks for pointing me to the other thread guys.
Took her for a spin today, warm air from blowers within 2 miles. Then shortly after, all cool again. So........i suspect from cold, heat builds up in the heater matrix and all is fine. But.... as soon as the engine hits temp and the thermostat opens, i'm losing flow to the matrix, cos the pump is u/s, and all heat goes towards the radiator. Fingers crossed, ordered the pump, i'll let you know how it goes. Albert
