Default Dolphin Grey D2 S8

Back in October 2018 I bought my Dolphin Grey D2 S8 and I can seriously say it's one of the best cars I ever owned.

Why? it's the Ronin and Transporter car. It's from a time when Audi made good looking understated cars. It’s a classic shape that’s aged oh so well amongst a sea of overdesigned cars that seem to be the Audis of today

Want to do a few thousand miles cross continent. - Got you covered in serenity and pace - get out like it was a 5 minute trip to the shops. Cosseted by those Recaro armchairs enveloped in the quietness of the double glazed cabin. With that V8 almost silent. That lightweight all Ali body and chassis will even surprise you at how frugal it can be.

Feeling frisky, feel like get a wriggle on over some twisty fun roads? Those same Recaro's will grip you better than any seat I've found. The V8 will woofle nicely as the rev counter flies around the dial faster than it has any right to. The suspension that cosseted you so well on your cross continent trip seems equally adept at cornering with imperceptible body roll. Even the 5 speed full auto box has dual personalities, stick it in sport or even drive on the buttons (I thought I’d hate them, I don’t) and its shifts far faster than on paper it has any right to.

Need to transport a lot of luggage, no problem 2 sets of golf clubs, trolleys and luggage for 2 is easily swallowed by the boot that just keeps on going.

I'm preaching to the choir when discussing the virtues of the D2 S8

It's great, I love it, I always wanted one, why are you reading this sale ad? In an ideal world you wouldn't be. Alas a fleet of cars that do the same thing isn’t practical and I've decided to scratch the next itch on the always wanted one list. Make no mistake I'll miss it.

So let's talk spec.

• 2002 Audi S2 S8 160,000 miles
• 4 Owners Since new
• Dolphin Grey Exterior
• Blueish Grey Leather / Grey Alcantara Interior with Verdana Wood Inlays.
• 20" Final Edition wheels wearing Michelin PS4S rubber
• Double Glazed Windows
• Electric Sunroof
• Independent Climate Control
• US/Canada Spec All red rear lights. These have been fitted with Green indicator bulbs so the overall flash colour is still amber. No issue with passing an MOT
• Porsche Oil Cap
• Upgraded Ali effect pedal covers
• Gruven Parts Ali Oil filter housing
• Gruven Parts Ali Dipstick handle
• Gruven Parts Billet Manifold Pivot levers
• Gruven parts Billet manifold arms
• Gruven Parts Ali coolant pipe coupler (OEM plastic are always a failure point and a pig to change)
• Ali Door pins
• Steering Wheel retrimmed in perforated Black Leather by Jack at Royal
• Audi RS6 Perforated Gear knob replacement (original will come with the car if required)
• Hi Quality Rubber Mats (the OEM will come with the car but at 20 years old don’t expect much)
• Front Door Speakers replaced with Rainbow
• Rear Door Speakers replaced with Rainbow
• Head Unit replaced with a Full Android Joying 9" touch screen (OEM Headunit will come with it)
• 12" JL Audio Subwoofer in a custom built box that sits inside the spare wheel. No Loss of boot space
• Genesis amplifier
• Mini DSP Sound Processor
• Logo LED Courtesy Lights
• Privacy rear window and door glass film. (This was fitted by the previous owner, but as it's not full drug dealer spec I opted to leave it in place)

There is a large history file. Routine servicing has been done by myself since purchase in 2018 with annual oil and filter changes.

Back in 2021 it was fettled by MJ having a new head, and an engine and box out service and some suspension work.

The thread for anyone interested is here

Alignment was done by Center Gravity in Atherton in October 2021, anyone who knows Chris reputation for chassis setup will appreciate the impact this makes

As you'd expect for a car turning 23 this year and used as a daily rather than a garage queen it's not perfect. .

The most noticeable of which is the front bumper, the lacquer has starred and would benefit from some attention. See pictures

There are couple of garage queens available that claim to be. But they are priced accordingly This one is a daily driver with some cosmetic blemishes consistent with its age and use.

I'm looking for £9000

I'd say it was the market. There are currently five on Autotrader, and only one cheaper than yours, and it's a Cat D. The other four are more expensive, with slightly lower mileages, with one hopeful of asking £24,000 and the biggest selling point is the custom factory colour. Photos of the black interior are terrible, as they're too dark, and the number plate has been covered so you can't even check the MOT history. Knowing that MJ has worked on yours, and what you've listed, I know which one I'd go for.
