Default Aircon part urgently required! Please help

Hi All

I’m having my aircon compressor and condenser replaced on my D2 S8, but the pipe between the two in knackered and I urgently need a replacement.

Can anyone point me to a supplier or, even better, let me buy one that you might have on a shelf?

I’m happy to pay whatever (well, within reason) plus first class postage, so I can get my beloved S8 back in time to give it some pre-meet TLC.

I think the part number may be 4D0 260 701B or similar.

Thanks, Jim

Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

Searching that part number throws this up, my experience of Autodoc is decent but it takes a bit of "research" to make sure the parts/numbers are correct.

or this looks promising

Can you confirm if this is the part (#27A) from the diagram? It's not ideal as it doesn't show the full run of the pipe, but instead a thin line, but it goes from the highlighted number into the upper pipe on the condenser. If so, unfortunately there is no other part numbers that can be used as an alternative, unless someone out there has found a solution using a part from another VAG car.

Regarding Autodoc, I find that any order from them takes roughly two weeks to arrive.

Audi Tradition don't have any, and the only two new ones I can find are both aftermarket. One is $20, in the US, and they don't include or exclude the UK:

The other is in Lithuania and is €163 and is also aftermarket:

If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest you contact Dean, as he seems to have better access to European sites, although you'd be pushing it for the annual meet.

Thanks Brian and Sean. MJ is going to have a look in the workshop and, if she doesn’t have one, I’ll try A8 Parts on Monday

Hope you get it sorted it time Jim. Mine was playing up at the '23 meet, so Mike and Angela (I was their chauffeur at that meet ) had to sit in the back of Herman with the windows open - the upside being I didn't catch COVID from Angela!...
