Just wondered if any of you guys that know my A8 (the pale blue one http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...us/1?logcode=p) would consider saying a few positive words about it?
I'm getting a few enquiries from folk remote to Glasgow who ask about the general condition of the car. I tell them it's in excellent nick - but then I'm the seller, so I suppose they take that with a pinch of salt. It's got a brand new MOT and a full service history, so that helps. So, if you remember my car form the Lutterworth meet (I got the rear light fixed BTW!), the double glazing fiiting at A8 Parts or the Scottish meets, a few kind words on this post would be much appreciated. Then I could refer the potential buyers to this post. ![]() Or is that too damned cheeky? ![]() |

I cant comment on the condition as I've not driven it, and I've not seen it for a little while, but I can say a few things:
Its quite a rare and desirable spec. Its a lovely colour, and high spec car. It is the sport spec, which is the one to have, and it has factory navigation and quattro, which are rarities on the 2.8. The towbar shouldnt be undervalued as they cost megabux new and can come in really handy. The upgrade to twin pane shows a level of commitment to the model from the owner, who has obviously loved the car dearly, only selling it to upgrade to the S8. The twin pane is a very rare option on the 2.8 and does make for a nicer, quieter ride. Its a 2002 model, so benefits from the xenon plus lights too, which is a big bonus. All in all, If I were looking at A8 2.8's, I think this one is well worth making the journey to go and have a proper look at. If in doubt, get an independent AA / RAC inspection of the car in your absence (£100 - £200 depending on detail), then when they give it the thumbs up, just fly up and collect it.... ![]()

I think it was Dave who drove it to you from Glasgow and back when the double glazing was fitted - but he didn't let me drive his 4.2 I remember!
