Default Bonnet fitting

After my stupid mistake the other day i have fitted another bonnet. A bit of a nightmare doing it on your own to be honest. Doesn’t fit as well as the old one but I think I may have damaged the hinges when it flew open.

The bonnet is pretty badly swirled and scratched, so I mopped it, hard, for ages and I still need to mop it again. Would something like SSR3 be better for me to use than meg’s swirl remover?

Also my paint code is LZ5L Ming blue but are there variants? Mike is your blue S the same paint code? The reason being the bonnet I’ve put on is a slightly different shade but looks to be the same as your S, like it has a bit of purple in some lights, pearl. I’ve noticed the difference between them before and just put it down to the time and effort you had put into the paint.

I have had a quick look in google and Mica and Pearl come back, what is Mica?

Yep, mine's LZ5L too and I've bought touch up spray (for a parking sensor replacement) and it seemed a perfect match

Thanks for that Jim. Just wondering now if mike S has the same paint code, although mine and his are very close in colour the bonnet i've put on looks more like his than mine, does that even make sence? It's raining here today and the difference can't be seen, it's only in sunshine.

I'm not that worried about it for me, but others might well.

I ordered a touch up kit from paints4u with my paint code and was also a perfick match, to the old bonnet. I'm going to have to start stone chip repairing.
