Fluid and filter change
After putting 55K on the 8 i decided to have fluid, filter and seal done.
So Friday morning i drove from Bideford to Burton on Trent to see to give Ben the pleasure. All went well and i now have fresh fuild new filter and output seal. The fluid didn't look too bad when it came out, clean and didn't smell burnt at all. It was a long way to drive but i think it was well worth it for piece of mind, and drove really well on the way home. I think the changes are smoother than before and i think i have lost the squeeling when cold. Thanks again Ben

Hmmm, I've been thinking I should do that too, sooner rather than later.
Nice day trip - about 130 miles each way for me. Could you post some contact details and (if allowed) ball-park costs?

Road trip! 220 miles each way for me, it's what the cars are made for.
Ben's mobile number is on here somewhere is where i got it from just search Williamson. As for price i wouldn't like to say as the boxes vary so, i have a really early 4 speed and the sump comes off without the exhaust having to (with a lillte bit of patiance) He is very reasonable and it was obvious that he has done many, and it was that piece of mind i was after and the main reason for travelling so far.

Bare in mind the box needs to be more or less cold when you check the box level, so allow plenty of time in for waiting for it to cool down before you can refill. Probably not an issue if you're taking the sump and filter out as that'll take a while!!

Best way to do it is to drop the car off the day before so they can start from cold and warm it, seems to work better than letting it cool down.
