Guess what I finished this weekend
With a little help from A8 Parts again, lots of earlier help from Richard and the main component from Gordon's scrap S8. Here's a clue - phhhhhhh

2002 Final Edition S8. Ebony black with Silver Grey leather and myrtle wood trim. Current mods: solar sun roof, 20mm rear spacers, 15 mm on front, red brembo callipers, 6k headlights, rear view camera, engine remap, alloy dash dial rings, alloy navi rings, tt/phaeton pedal upgrade, (and custom matching foot rest) dension ipod interface & parrot hands free kit (both fully hidden), av input, tv in motion switched thro' PF switch in blanking plug right of steering column, Audi 'quattro' sill covers, repositioned centre console switches, radio clock, .Planned mods: auto-dimming rear view mirror, dash cam (as steamship's), fit the ski hatch, refit philips drl's (or maybe not - nope, definitely not - horrible botch!).

Yes, give that man a prize!
 The clue is the sound of the fan (a bit like an asmatic mouse) just about running in the feeble Scottish sunshine. I got the correct relay from A8 Parts, swapped out the standard relay and waited for a break in the rain to check that it was working!

And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I really must investigate the packages of bits to do mine at some point, now we know from Ian's informative post what wiring is required
Are there only 1 of these relays required in cars with solar roofs, or are there a number that can be acquired from any D2?

There is just one relay for the solar sunroof which replaces the 'standard' relay for the aircon fans.
If you already have a sun roof, you need the solar roof itself, two runners/rails with the electrical connections, lots of wires, the relay and Richard (or similarly competent auto electrician).
