Default Parrot mki9200 ...awesome piece of kit

I have to say I am very impressed with these kits. I wanted an inexpensive way of connecting the iphone to vw standard stereo in my bora, rather than going to the trouble of upgrading the stereo.

Well this kit could be used with the rns d or prior units in the d2s quite easily. I bought mine second hand off ebay for £80 and luckily I think it had previously been used in an audi or vw as it had the plug and play adapters I needed.

With this kit, I can make and recieve phone calls via bluetooth and listen to music via bluetooth. You can also listen to music via auxillary phone jack, on an sdhc card or from a usb stick. Furthermore, if you connect to the iphone via the data cable...it will charge the phone and allow you to operate the ipod music player on the iphone.

I initially had issues with my kit, because the seller had sent me a dodgy data cable, and so I couldnt operate the music player on my iphone...and the parrot unit kept saying the ipod software was not supported. But once I changed the data cable I was away.

I really do think this kit is a relatively inexpensive way of integrating your iphone with the d2.

I had it fitted in my s8 (via the Bose) about 3 years ago, and it's generally pretty good (tho' voice command can give some "interesting" results...). I've since had it also fitted to my Coupe and my wife's Honda as well, so I guess you could say that I'm a fan too

Got one in the XC90.. It's awesome.. and with the latest firmware can have TWO phones simultaneously connected over bluetooth (only one syncs the address book).. With option for Apple, USB, and headphone inputs (or BT Audio) and the remote control unit is pretty cool too.

Default Upgrading the firmware

Upgrading the firmware is pretty straight forward too.....just go to the parrot website and it will give instructions on how to download the latest firmware to a USB stick and then upload it to the unit.

When I got my parrot it was on firmware 1.14 and so I updated it cos initially I was having issues with the data cable....I noticed that with the latest firmware when you stream music through Bluetooth you get the song title details as well.

Yup... Though a word of warning.. By default, newer versions of Windows format larger external drives as exFAT, so you need to make sure it's formatted as FAT32. Took me a few goes to work that one out
