Default Stereo upgrade options

Hi guys ,
I have this stereo system in my S8 , no idea which one it is ,
Can anyone advise on what options I have to upgrade to a more modern system and / or is it possible to install some kind of Bluetooth system to accommodate my iPhone ,
Cheers
Dave

No straight answer.

Pre facelifts are difficult to retrofit with Audi genuine 'double DIN' units like RND-D or RNS-E. If you're on bugget I would look at aftermarket options, but it's uneasy to find the matching style.

Look at Blaupunkt line...

So it's not as simple as just buying the wooden double din surround and switches and swapping the connections over then

I'm looking at 'just' word. Double dins were very rare on pre facelifts. Buying from Audi will be prohibitively expensive if they are still available. Plus we'll need to change the structural frame behind the fascia.

I'm not saying it is impossible. Simply be prepared for serious project

Genuine Audi bluetooths only availble with RNS-E.

Aftermarket bluetooth:

Nokia cradle and bluetooth and not mutually exclusive. I have both in my facelift car and they both have advantages and disadvantages. Nokia in the cradle will benefit from huge external antenna...

Ok , thanks for that , so the parrot device is a serious contender to give me what I need , my guess it won't be just plug and play though ??

I think there is nothing plug and play to be honest...

Aftermarket headunits will have bluetooth, so if you'll decide to change headunit then separate bluetooth may not be needed.

I'd suggest to drive the car for a while and test how much you love it Then you will decide how far you can go with upgrades...
