VAGcom Lowering
OK, the arch gap on my Sport appears to be greater than most others I've seen and I'd love to do something about it. I'd be keen to lower the front of the car 15mm or so, and the rear 10mm- nothing OTT.
My problem lies in that I have a warranty through my local Audi dealer, and I do not want to do anything that will void that if any of the suspension parts were to fail at a later date.
To begin with, can anyone tell me if VAGcom/the dealers computer can actually show a date and time log of any changes that have been made to any of the car settings? Could they see the history and spot that the suspension has been adjusted on X date? Or does it not work like that?
Secondly, how does the lowering actually work? Am I right in thinking theres no reference to millimetres in VAGcom as such, just different numbers that can be increased and decreased which result in 5mm increments?
Ideally I'd love just to get the dealer to do it the next time I'm in, but I'd be worried that they would refuse or say its not possible etc, then I'd be unable to get it done myself after that as I'd have drawn their attention to it.
Can anyone also explain to me about lowering links and what exactly they are?
Thanks in advance!
