Vag-com/vcds
So, to enable video in motion, I have found these links:-

Also, need the serial number from the head unit to generate the login code. But which bit of the 3G system is classified as the "head unit"!? Thanks

The serial number can be obtained using VCDS and scanning module 7 - Control Head so you don't need to dig it out yourself.
