Default LED DRLs

Hi All,
Apologies from a newbie, in case this has been covered before.
As anyone come across or fitted these to an A8 D4 2004.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140853424396?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2648&ssPageNa me=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I have purchased a pair thinking that they would be easy peasy, No Way.
The wiring is OK, no probs with that.
My problem is the physical mounting. Included in the kit are four "brackets". two similar small black ones, two larger similar bare metal ones, and two larger bare metal ones that are very different (not close to being mirror images even).
Any pointers from you clever guys would be appreciated.
I could always power them from a transformer and put them over the dustbins for midnight rubbish removal duties!!

Hi, welcome to the forum from me.

Where about would you mount them? Next to the existing fog lights? I made a little photoshop picture.

Default LED DRLs

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I'm thinking that is the best location.
I know I'll after lie down and poke my head under the front and drop the panel but with the rain I have not gone that far yet.

If it was me I would custom my own mounts if I were to install aftermarket DRL's. The mounts supplied are just generic. So, looking the the picture below, I think you'll have to make your own mounts.

When you say there is no problem with the wiring, where are these connecting to? not sure on the D4 but there is a distinct lack of available leccy power in the D3s engine bay.

If it was me I would be tempted to dremel out some of the black trim on the section below the foglight grill and mount in there.

Yep, when I looked at it for the first time, the first thing I though about is Dremel

First I owe you all a very big apology.
My motor is a 4E D3, not a D4. The 2004 should have highlighted that. I am claiming "Old Age" for errors in my typing, well I will be 75 in two weeks.

My original idea was mounting in the fog light grill but that might be a little fragile though it would be easier to do. Pull them off and work on the garage bench.
Looks like the best place will be the slot below the fog light grill. They do fit in there, just. They have a sort of step construction at the rear that seems to fit round the mouldings in the said slot, more luck than judgement.
Still not fully decided yet.
The grandkids are home from school this week, and next week the Boss and I are in London for Remembrance Sunday, I am one of the old fogey marchers. So there is not enough time to tackle this with confidence.
Only three wires to connect, earth, sidelamp & ignition. I do have an Ign Hot in the left hand fuse box, just have to decide on the best place for sidelamp.

Passed MOT this morning without any hitches!!! The car that is, not me.

my fault i should have read the year and realised, So you are running a cable thru the bay up to the fuse box for power
