Cd changer error?Options please..
A8 4.2 1995
Each time i press the mode button on the standard stereo it just comes up error. Doesnt even try to read discs. Any ideas? Can i use an ipod on the cd changer lead?Is that possible? I do miss the sound quality of the cd changer through the bose compared to the radio! It is the rectangle delta radio BTW https://www.google.com/search?q=a8+d...2F%3B800%3B600

There are various devices that can be used in place of or alongside the CD changer, depending where/how you wire them in. e.g. XcarLink.
Where are you? I have a spare CD changer that a member here gave me some time ago. Easy enough to access in the boot and swap the leads over to test.

Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

Just get one of these for the D2 as is cheaper. Just using one atm for an installation i am doing using a parrot via line in ..

I'm getting exactly the same problem on my S8. It started as an intermittent problem on one or two discs and would clear itself. The other day an error message came up on all discs and now it won't clear. Is the only answer a replacement changer or is a fix possible? It couldn't have happened at a worse time as I'm leaving Dubai and coming back to blighty so I'm selling the beasty.
