Here we go again..........Heater Woes
Well, it's that time of year, and you expect the heater to work?
Nope, took a ride today, and the only heat was off the heated seats. Took a scan, and found: Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 4H0-820-043.clb Control Module Part Number: 4H0 820 043 D HW: 4H0 820 043 D Component and/or Version: Klima 3 Zonen H14 0061 Software Coding: 3621002800 Work Shop Code: WSC 02313 785 00200 ASAM Dataset: EV_AirCondiFront 001050 (AU64) ROD: EV_AirCondiFront_AU64.rod VCID: 21503B5361C9138A302EBB9-8075 1 Fault Found: 0378 - Coolant Circulation Pump B10D0 04 [009] - Internal System Fault Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 3 Fault Frequency: 1 Reset counter: 217 Mileage: 175128 km Date: 2016.11.11 Time: 21:03:57 Has anyone seen this before? is there a circulation pump just for the blowers? Where is it? Are they easy to change? Cheers |
Not had an issue with heat but there has been issues with electric coolant pumps.
See D4 - Common Faults - Wiring Loom Issues. |
Cheers Joe,
searched "0378 - Coolant Circulation Pump" to no avail. strange...it was there all along? |
Sounds depressingly similar to the Auxiliary Coolant Pump that afflicts D2s and I think D3s to a lesser extent.

Yes, I had this on my car - was repaired under warranty so no idea of cost - but I don't think it was a huge job! Good luck.

Honestly I couldn't say - no so as I had noticed.

Thanks for pointing me to the other thread guys.
Took her for a spin today, warm air from blowers within 2 miles. Then shortly after, all cool again. So........i suspect from cold, heat builds up in the heater matrix and all is fine. But.... as soon as the engine hits temp and the thermostat opens, i'm losing flow to the matrix, cos the pump is u/s, and all heat goes towards the radiator. Fingers crossed, ordered the pump, i'll let you know how it goes. Albert |
