Well my Google Earth started working again earlier today.

I wonder what the problem was?

Some good info there Paul...although it doesn't fill me with much hope that my issue will be resolved as only a mechanical warranty is left on my car until April 2018.

Thanks & kind regards,

Default Google Earth to end 31.12.2020

Much fuss on other forums about Google Earth going to disappear at the end of the year. Is this going to be the same for A8/S8 D4 owners ?

Reading that thread, it appears that any Audi with Google Earth will cease to work from 1st January 2021. What's confusing about that thread is what exactly the effects of this will be with regards to what's displayed in the MMI, the Virtual Cockpit and the HUD, as some seem to imply that there will be no navigation of any sort, there will be navigation but nothing on the VC or HUD or that there will still be full navigation with everything on the MMI, VC and HUD 'but' without the fancy Google Earth graphic overlay. I would to think that it would be the last of those options, with the display looking more like the maps displayed in the D2 and D3.

I would say youíre right in that a D4 should still have a functioning sat nav but without the impressive looking Google Earth overlay.
Itís disappointing to be honest and I donít think Audi have bothered to inform anyone either.
Itís a nice feature and Iíll miss it if it disappears as predicted.
